ABOUT

We live in a distracted world. We overthink. We over-scroll. We overdo. There’s no time for pauses, no space to breathe. So how do you reach people when their brains are overflowing with an endless stream of clutter?

Hi, I’m Kiko Mattoso, and I create stories that demand attention, the kind that make people’s thumbs hit the breaks.

I’ve worked with some of the world’s biggest and most iconic brands—P&G, Unilever, General Motors, Burger King, McDonald’s, Mastercard, Stella Artois, and more.

20 Years in Two Minutes:

After graduating from ESPM—Brazil’s top marketing school—I wanted to understand the world beyond Google Maps. So I spent a year traveling solo across 15+ countries, learning more about people, cultures, and myself. But that’s a conversation best had over drinks.

Back in São Paulo, I worked at some of the biggest agencies, helping launch Burger King and Stella Artois in Brazil and accidentally creating one of the world’s first viral ads—Masseuse of Models (2009), the second most-watched video in the world that May.

By 2012, streaming platforms were taking over, changing how people consumed content. I pressed pause again—this time to study screenwriting in LA, learning how to craft stories that could hold attention beyond 30 seconds.

Back in Brazil one year later, I joined Publicis, where we created The Skip Ad Festival for Sony Entertainment—breaking audience records for The Voice and winning multiple Cannes Lions and One Show Pencils.

In 2017, I moved to New York to join Saatchi & Saatchi, where I helped create It’s a Tide Ad—a Super Bowl campaign that won it all: a Cannes Film Grand Prix, a Titanium Lion, a Black Pencil at D&AD, a Grand Clio, and a place in culture.

Then at TBWA\Chiat Day NY, I led creative teams pushing Henkel brands (Dial, Got2b, Schwarzkopf, Snuggle) to do work they never thought they could—driving stronger creative, bringing in more business for the agency, and increasing revenue for the clients.

In 2021, I joined McCann NY, where I led multiple creative teams working on Mastercard, New York Lottery, GM, and Neom’s smart city—developing high-impact, multimillion-dollar campaigns to drive tourism in the region.

Since mid-2023, I’ve been freelancing for IKEA, Samsung, M&M’s, Basil Hayden, and Alka-Seltzer, while also co-founding Clutch, a small shop for ambitious brands.

Because if you’re not ambitious, you’ll do forgettable work—and someone with a fast thumb will swipe right past you.

I shape ideas that fight the fastest thumbs.
